BID FOR BETTER - Bid fast fashion farewell in Urban Times’ silent auction!

On the 13th of December 2012, optimistic forward-thinking online magazine, Urban Times, will host a
sustainable fashion event as part of their Eco Fashion series.

PERLAGE ORGANIC WINES will be there with the new elegant Canah bottle!

The event’s aim is to encourage consumers to support ethical fashion and educate them on its merits. Funds raised during the night will go to the Environmental Justice Foundation. Urban Times has chosen the EJF as their campaigns promote human rights and an end to environmental abuses in the textile
industry as well as pushing the use of organic cotton opposed to conventional cotton.

The core of the event is a silent auction with a host of ethical designers donating pieces ranging
from jewellery and handbags to sunglasses and lingerie. Brands involved include: From Somewhere,
Made, Izzy Lane, Junky Styling, Lost Property of London, Victim Fashion Street, Atelier Mayer, Izzy
Lane, Rapanui, Hetty Rose, Little Glass Clementine, Lowie, Ivana Basilotta, Colin Leslie, Tara Starlet,
Queenie&Ted, Nancy Dee, Ayten Gasson, Tricotage, SewLomax, Comfort Station, Komodo, Arthur&Henry, Minna, Elvis&Kresse, Still ethical, Panchachuli, Fashion Compassion, Loomstate 321, Sara C, 88style.me, Asos Green Room and Ren Skincare.

Demonstrations by fashion designers such as Hetty Rose, Olwen Bourke and Little Glass Clementine will
be taking place. Attendees can dress up in vintage kimonos by Shirahime while ethical fashion consultancy
REWARDROBE will give tips and tricks on how to dress and shop more ethically.

Thought-leaders in the industry such as fashion designers Ada Zanditon and Olwen Bourke as well as film
producer Leah Borromeo will talk about their work.

The EJF’s photo exhibition on cotton farming in Uzbekistan features as a backdrop to illustrate the
importance of their campaigns.

And to keep the crowd merry, a bar will provide ethical wines, organic prosecco, organic juices and an exclusive Urban Times organic cocktail!
